About me

Hi! My name is Samuel Stilwell, I’m 23 from the Surrey/Hampshire area in England, UK. I attended the University at Portsmouth which I studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production.

I aspire to become a Film Director/Producer.

Since 2017, I have always taken an interest in the world of Film and have always wanted to explore the creation of a film to the point where I wanted to pursue a career in becoming the top of production, as a Director or Producer. When I was younger I was always spending my time designing all kinds of different things and showing them off to family and friends such as Magazines, Book/Video Game Front Covers, and even my own stories. Moving through my education, I have designed items for companies such as using my photography skills to create ‘Flat-Lay’ Promotion designs for a popular Swimwear company most recently working with the marketing department editing content and designing thumbnails for the UK-based company channel.

I also own a YouTube channel to which I use a bunch of different footage from my own to stock footage and put it all together to create a bundle of joy for 2 minutes. I call this series the ‘Time Wasting Videos’. Although they are not considered as ‘Professional’ work I enjoy making them and making my friends laugh at these videos.

As part of my final graduate film module, I completed my graduate film which I took on the role of Producer. It gave me a real insight to how the role works on a real production. It gave me confidence and the skill to take leadership in a crew of 12+ and knowledge of the process of a production through the eyes of a Producer.

I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a 2:1 (Second Class Upper Division) in July 2023

I hope to one day to share my future stories with the world and bring them to life with the magic of movie creation.
